One of the most important things that we do while we are here on this planet is to find our life’s purpose. Once, one find’s his or her life purpose, generally success seems to follow them where ever they go. Why is this true?
The answer is that, once you know who you are and what your true passion is, you are happy and happiness is simply contagious.
You may ask yourself, well how do I find my life’s purpose then? That is a question that can only be answered by you. Everyone has a different life purpose and a different pathway to discover it.
For example, one person may discover their life’s purpose because they developed a terminal illness and they wanted to figure out why they were put here on this earth. They may do this through extreme soul searching.
Another person may be in the habit of running five miles every day and as they run, they may let their thoughts go until they receive impressions on what they are to do with their lives.
Yet another person may practice yoga where they bring their mind to a complete standstill and focus on their breathing in and out and all of a sudden an impression will come into their mind.
The point here is to realize that what may be right for someone else may not be right for you. You have to discover your own life purpose.
Whatever that process is to you is different for everyone. Who are we all really? Why did we really come here? Think about all the negativity, dissatisfaction with life, rage, anger, that you may find in your heart. These emotions and feelings are all teachers. They will help us evolve and grow into the people that we want to be.
We need to stop looking to the external world for self validation. We need to find it within. So how do you find it within, is the big question?
So let’s pretend that money is not an issue and that your talents are the currency. Picture yourself and this beautiful planet in twenty years. What talents of yours could you contribute to paint that picture? This becomes your target purpose. That target purpose of helping others as a whole becomes your purpose in life.
Now that purpose will consistently evolve as you grow and change as a person within. Let me give you an example of a girl named Sally.
Sally is a powerful writer. But in college, she ended up studying and becoming an engineer. Now, she may not know her life’s purpose yet because she is not utilizing her one great talent! But if she were really following what her true ability was, she would be able to express it more – by becoming a writer.
It is never too late to express it. You may not be in a position to make your career your unique ability…but you can find it and be able to contribute that to the whole – doing volunteer work, doing something on the side.
A lot of times, your purpose will evolve. Life may take you in a different direction especially when you are committed to your own growth. The point here is to start finding out where your life’s purpose is by looking at where you want to be in the next 5 to 10 years and then what talents you have that can help you get there. That will become your target purpose.
Once you have that, and then start practicing self development and soul searching which will lead you to receive impressions on the next step to take in your journey to self discovery. Self discovery will then lead you to true happiness that only YOU can receive because you know why you are here. And that my friends, is what will make you successful!
